How it works
Falls Fighter is a comprehensive program, all totally managed by The Physio Co. It includes:
- Staff education enables care staff to better prevent falls through with constant monitoring and input. The Physio Co provides an education session covering falls risk factors, identification and prevention as well as facility-specific information to increase the awareness of staff.
- Falls Risk Identification identifies who is at high risk of falling. All residents are assessed, an action plan put in place and regular follow up reviews scheduled.
- Staff and family awareness is a vital part of falls prevention. Falls Fighter introduces strategies to improve awareness and reduce the risk of falls.
- Room and equipment audits identify risks in each resi’s room that may increase the risks of falling. Recommendations are then made to ensure maximum safety.
- Falls tracking and analysis. Falls tracking systems are used to collect information on the reasons that falls are occurring. Risk factors are identified and monitoring strategies put into place.
- Exercise classes build awareness, fitness and strength to help prevent falls.
