David’s determination comes to the fore #SeniorsSmashingGoals
Exercise is so much easier when it’s fun. Just ask David Pictor, whose motivation for getting fitter was to once again play indoor golf.
Difficulty walking and standing for long periods meant he hadn’t taken part in his hobby for 10 years. That was until we got involved.
The Physio Co was approached by David’s sister, Terry, who had heard our physiotherapy sessions helped clients improve mobility, strength and quality of life.
When David set his original goal, he said: “I want to stand for 20 seconds independently and continue to improve my walking pattern and maintain distance so that one day I can go back to playing indoor golf.”
In those early days, David’s walking was slow and needing assistance; his balance while standing was also a problem.
Help and encouragement
David’s physio Nisarg tailored his treatment plan and, their help and encouragement, worked step by step to get him where he wanted to be.
Now, from being unable to stand independently, David can stand for at least 20 seconds independently and play a good shot in indoor golf.
Nisarg says: “Terry couldn’t wait for that moment. She came to meet David and saw him play indoor golf and became so happy. I can’t forget the joy in her eyes at seeing David’s improvements.
“It was very emotional for me, too. She also thanked me for doing such an outstanding work and helping David play indoor golf again.”
GOAL ACHIEVED! Like David, you can stop wishing and start doing.
