About the book: Moving Is Living

Losing independence is one of the biggest fears that comes with getting older.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

As we move through our 70s and beyond, staying mobile can be one of the simplest ways to remain independent for longer, helping us stay active enough to garden, see family and keep doing the things we love.

Moving Is Living is a practical book that shows older Australians how.

In Moving Is Living, Tristan White, founder of The Physio Co, draws on more than 20 years’ experience helping older Australians stay mobile to provide a practical guide to staying independent longer.

His message is encouragingly simple: you don’t need to join a gym or follow a complicated exercise program, you just need to keep moving in ways that support the life you want to keep living.

Filled with helpful advice and real stories, Moving Is Living explores:

how keeping your body moving helps you stay independent for longer
why walking is one of the simplest and most powerful forms of exercise for your body, brain and confidence
simple ways to build strength and improve balance at any age
how small amounts of movement can make a meaningful difference to everyday life
how to overcome fear and the mindset that can stop you moving, especially after a fall
inspiring stories of older people who are continuing to move and live well

Written for older Australians who want to stay independent for longer, Moving Is Living is also a valuable resource for their children and carers – offering practical ways to support movement, confidence and independence, so older people can keep doing the things they love on their own terms.
