[Case Study] – Victor’s home visit physio experience.
Here’s the story of our client, Victor, who, with the help of his TPC physio, Brooke, recovered from a 7-year struggle with back pain via a series of at-home physio sessions to get back to playing his beloved lawn bowls.
Impressive stuff Vic! #seniorssmashinggoals
Do you need a physio to come to you, your Mum or Dad at home?
Getting to a physio clinic is not always easy. It’s often much more convenient to have a physio come to you.
That’s why we can visit you, or someone you care for at home!
- Guide you through how we work together and book your first appointment over the phone;
- A physiotherapist will then visit at home for the first appointment;
- The physio will listen closely to what pain and/or health problems that are troubling you;
- They will then complete an assessment of the injury and /or what’s causing the problem/s.
- After the assessment, the physio will create a one-page plan to achieve your health goals**;
- Once we have agreed on the the plan, your physio will conduct physiotherapy treatment in the most convenient location possible: right at home.
**If you’d like, we can share the goal plan with family members and/or doctor so we all work together on helping you smash your goals.

Onsite or home visit physiotherapy improves walking & moving; relieves pain and makes life much easier.
Our physiotherapists are experts in helping clients to be as mobile, safe and happy as possible by relieving pain, improving strength and maximising quality of life. In fact a major part of our home physio treatment is to have fun!
Our physiotherapists are special caring people and very dedicated – they are also cheerful because they love what they are doing… A large (and unofficial) part of our treatment is lifting your spirits and ensuring that you look forward to your physiotherapy home service and are motivated to work hard on exercises designed to help you. The friendly nature and happy outlook of our physiotherapists has proven to help many older Australians along their treatment journey.
As we get older we generally get less active, more prone to accidents and illness and less mobile and independent than we once were.
This is where physiotherapy treatment at home can help. First you don’t have to go anywhere, you will be more relaxed at your own home, and we have a dedicated team of exceptional physiotherapists who have the knowledge, training and experience to help you.
For those who have recently had an accident or an operation, physio home visits are a blessing. Not being mobile or having limited mobility no longer prevents you from obtaining the help that you need.
Each member of our physio team are specialists in physiotherapy for the elderly at home and work with many health problems, including:
- Difficulty getting around
- Pain relief
- Parkinson’s disease
- Foot and leg problems
- Preparing for surgery
- Rehabilitation after surgery or injury

Physiotherapists use advanced techniques including stretches, targeted exercises and massage to help the body improve its ability to move and function and to reduce pain. Even as we age, our bodies tissue continues to regenerate and physiotherapy uses this natural regeneration to help build muscles and increase movement, flexibility and independence.
In the comfort of your own home your physiotherapists will help you go through a series of exercises and your physio session may include massage as well. Where in your home you obtain treatment is up to you and your physio, it is usually a combination of in a chair, on a bed and a carpeted area free of obstacles – anywhere that is private and you feel comfortable.
Dress down for your physio appointment! You need to be in comfortable clothing that allows free movement. The type of clothing you should wear does depend upon where your pain or injury is. However, you can’t go wrong if you wear a loose t-shirt, singlet or short sleeved blouse and shorts or soft wide pants that can be pushed up above the knee. Sneakers or runners are ideal as they provide support.
You don’t need to have any equipment for our physio at home service to be a success. Our physios will work with you to determine the best place for treatment, and if there is any particular equipment we need, we will bring it to you at your home (or find things to use nearby!).
Currently if you live in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and central and northern Victoria you are pretty much guaranteed that we have a physiotherapist that came come to you. Even if you don’t live within these areas, please do give us a call (1300 797 793) as with the popularity of our service we are rapidly expanding across Australia and may already be able to provide a physio home service in your area.
