The Physio Co
Online Physiotherapy
Keeping Australian Seniors Moving
Our online consultation service exists to help Aussie seniors who can benefit from working with one of our therapists when visiting you in person is not an option. Maybe you live in a remote area with limited healthcare access, a region where we don’t have therapists or you are having to isolate yourself from physical contact with others. Whatever the reason our caring Physiotherapists can provide practical help and advice all done via the phone or internet!
We ask you to fill out an online form to get to know you (or your Mum or Dad) a little & make sure an online consultation will suit
Over the phone, we guide you through how we work together, how online consultations work, how to prepare for the consultation and then book your first appointment
A physiotherapist will visit you via phone or video call for your first appointment and listen closely to what pain and/or health problems are causing trouble
Your physio will complete an assessment of your health, fitness and/ or injury.Â
After the assessment, your physio will create a one-page plan to achieve your health goals.
If you’d like, we can share the plan with your family and/or doctor so we all work together
One we have agreed on the plan, your physio will guide you through the recommendations and/or exercises to get the best result and work towards your health and fitness goal

FAQ
What are the system requirements?
We use an internet browser-based way of connecting for our online consults which is super easy to use. In your appointment confirmation email we’ll send you a hyperlink that you will click on to join your physio in the online consult room. That’s right – no downloads and nothing to install!
To have a good video consultation you’ll need:
- A strong and reliable internet connection
- A device with a microphone & speakers – these are built into most computers and tablet devices so nothing too fancy needed here.
- A Video Camera – This will likely be inbuilt into your device. If not, you could easily attach a webcam via a USB cable
- Browsers & devices you can use: Google Chrome (PCs, Macs & Android devices), Mozilla Firefox (PCs, Macs & Android devices) and Safari (Macs, iPhones & iPads)
Many elderly Australians are self-isolating due to the greater threat that the coronavirus presents to this segment of our population. Self-isolation often results in less activity and not doing any exercise. This can result in depression, isolation and increased anxiety and worry. Keeping active and doing regular exercise and the ongoing contact with the friendly support from The Physio Co helps our elderly parents mentally and also importantly exercise is belived to help the immune system.
Yes, telehealth services are subsidised for those who are eligible under DVA or Medicare funding. To book an appointment using this referral you’ll need to call a member of our friendly customer service team on 1300 797 793. Jennifer positioned her iPad so the physio (Maddy) could see her walk and complete some simple balance tests, while Jennifer's daughter Rachel stood by to help. Together, Jennifer and Maddy set a goal of improving her confidence with balance for walking around the house and going for walks around the village. After the session, Maddy developed an exercise program. She sent Jennifer and Rachel the program via email to complete at home and a plan for a follow-up call with Maddy in 3-days to ensure the exercises are completed correctly.
