Here at TPC, we love celebrating our clients’ achievements, especially when they’re as fabulous as Muriel’s!
When Muriel began physiotherapy with us in March, she was struggling with significant shoulder pain that was affecting her strength, mobility, and overall confidence. A graceful, elegant woman with a strong sense of pride in her appearance, Muriel had one very specific and heartfelt goal:
“To be able to brush the back of my hair, because I can do it better than the hairdressers!”
Muriel’s shoulder pain wasn’t just a discomfort – it was stopping her from doing the little things that bring joy and independence to her daily life. Being unable to do her hair, something that mattered deeply to her, became the perfect benchmark for recovery. It wasn’t just about movement, it was about being Muriel again.
Working alongside her physiotherapist Mia, they managed Muriel’s pain through gentle hands-on techniques and slowly introducing strength-building exercises. With consistent effort, Muriel’s range of movement improved dramatically, going from minimal use to almost full range in just four weeks.
No more shoulder pain. Full independence in her day-to-day routine. And yes, she’s now brushing the back of her hair like a true professional!
Regaining her independence wasn’t just physically freeing, it was an emotional breakthrough. Muriel can now do her housework, get herself ready, and go about her day without discomfort. The pride she takes in looking and feeling her best has returned, and the joy on her face says it all.
Now that her shoulder is no longer an issue, Muriel and Mia have shifted focus. Following recent heart surgery, Muriel is now working to rebuild her mobility so she can enjoy long walks with friends and family once again.
Muriel’s story is a beautiful reminder the goals that matter most are often the simplest, and the most personal. We’re so proud to be part of her journey.
